Hi JT. Hope all is well... The original track is WestBam "Hold Me Back". However, half of the tracks seem to automatically get assigned incorrect track names anyway. No big issue really, it's the sign of the times :)
Anyway. I'll have a browse through your channel to see if I can find that old show you mention plus other bits. Thanks.
Good luck with the recorded shows aswell. Hopefully you'll come across them one of these days to take us back :)
Distortedheadache.........had a listen to the part mixcloud have listed bertie basset - toca ma ( musica mix ) and googled it, looks like a track came out in Feb 2014 sounding very similar to that one from 89.....will have to go through my vinyl to see if I have the original.........will let you know if I have any luck....JT
Distortedheadache.........on my profile there is a old mix tape from me back in 89,from one of my shows.....I have got a box of tapes with my shows matts shows both of us together and some hype shows, and some mixes of me n matt with a few beers a mic and back to back mixing, altogether about 40 tapes.........problem is i can picture the box but can not bloody find them, they are here somewhere, will just have to keep looking, still got the old vinyl so every now and then on my mixcloud profile i put a mix on....or you can tune into me on www.puemusic247.com every Tuesday 4-6pm i play everything from back in the day to present....all the best JT
Why does it say underneath the set "This upload features tracks from Bertie Bassett" ? Who is Bertie Bassett!? No Bertie Bassett on this mix. Unless they mean the licorice all sorts. yuk :P
Wicked set anyway :)
Distortedheadache........Matt & me JT done Fantasy,Centreforce and a couple of other stations together we also played out in a few clubs back in 89.Me n Matt DJ'd together for about 10 years.....great times.....
Hi there JT. Only just noticed this comment now. Apologies for not replying earlier.
Thanks for commenting!
Yes I remember both yourself and DJ Matt. I'm pretty certain I've visited a few 'night spots' where yourself and others had played. Particularly in east London & Essex regions. Although I'm originally from north London, most of the good nights were based in those parts :)
Had tons of those old recordings of Fantasy, Centreforce etc in a medium sized box which my cousin was borrowing with some of my records. He left them in his car and then SOLD it with my box still in the car! Oh well. Such were those days :(
I remember a massive 4 hour session when DJ Matt (I think) was playing on Centreforce and played "Salsa House" three times back to back. Haha! That show was drawn out over 3 or 4 tapes :)
If yourself or DJ Matt still have any recordings of those old shows it'll be a pleasure to go back again. I know it's a cheeky ask but if you don't try ... and apologies for the very long winded comment :)
Or anymore stations? Moonlight? Kick?Rave ? 88-90 was the best but was only 13 so didn't go out but tapes loads
I'm on that thread lol...you got any dance FM tapes?
Killer radio show...on what was the best station in London.
Yep. Great station. Loved Centreforce & Sunrise aswell. Although I've heard hardly any Sunrise shows and all my recordings disappeared years ago.
Anyway. Fantasy was probably my fave aswell.
BTW this was first uploaded by me on the pirate radio thread on discogs. First recorded summer 1989 - what a fantastic summer that was!
P.S. DJ Matt also played on Centreforce. Had quite a few of his shows, all gone now apart from one, which I have in my cupboard somewhere. Very, very bad reception though.
