‘Line of sight’ is the topic on this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories. Mike and Bennett are sharing the joys of communicating at long distance with a man portable radio. The term “line of sight” refers to the direct path that radio waves take from messenger to receiver. Objects along the line of sight may interfere with communication. It actually takes a bit of know how to keep a radio going. A commonly misunderstood concept. Unlike in the movies, you don’t always have amazing communication that suddenly cuts out.
