The Trancendence And Immanence Of God

At our Regional Meeting, Dave preached on the Transcendence And Immanence Of God - how God made all things for himself and how he is also near to us.

The goal of the talk on Sunday was to set a theological framework for the presence of God. He is transcendent and immanent at one and the same time.

Know it or not, God is near. Jacob's story is so touching as he flees from his brother and finds himself reduced to using a rock as a pillow, homeless, cut off, alone. In that moment God reveals himself with a promise (' I am with you') and a realisation, 'Surely God is in this place and I did not know it'. Gen 28:16 As Paul said to the Athenians, ' God is not far from anyone of you, in him we live and move and have our being'. Acts 27: .
