Nicolette Jones, writer, critic, broadcaster and interviewer joins BookD to talk about her career in the world of Childrens books.
Nicolette has been the Childrens book editor for the Sunday Times for more than two decades and is an integral cog within the machine of Childrens books. The role of the critic is a fascinating one, especially when it comes to recognising a special talent and telling the world through print.
The critic has to be inventive and open minded to a world of imaginative story lines, characters, plot and colour. "Childrens books have to be as interesting stylistically as they would be if the were written for adults", say's Nicolette who talks on the show about the first book she read, life as a journalist and becoming an author herself.
