California Condor Recovery in Pinnacles National Park

California Condor Recovery in Pinnacles National Park

Park Ranger Alacia Welch chats with Big Blend Radio hosts Nancy J. Reid & Lisa D. Smith about the California Condor Recovery Program in Pinnacles National Park, located in Central California. Alacia discusses the issues that led to the condors almost going extinct, how they were brought back into the wild, and the park's outreach program. Nancy and Lisa were visiting the park in April 2015, as part of the Big Blend Spirit of America Tour, their quest to visit  all 407 National Park units and their gateway communities, and cover them on Big Blend Radio, Big Blend Video, in NationalParkPlanner.com, and in Big Blend Radio & TV Magazine.

This segment originally aired on April 20, 2015, on Big Blend Radio's Nature Connection show, that broadcasted live from Ridgemark Golf & Country Club in Hollister, California. Hollister is a gateway community to Pinnacles National Park. Click Here to Listen to Big Blend Radio's special show focusing on Pinnacles National Park & San Benito County.
