This audio file contains Prabhuji's Hindi Hari-katha on the appearance of Sri Nrsinghadeva. Prabhuji continued explaining the seventh canto of Srimad Bhagavatam that contains the history of Hiranyakasipu and his saintly son, Prahlada. We were told on how Hiranyakasipu became grief-stricken by his brother's death at the hands of Sri Varahadeva. To avenge his brother's death at the hands of the Lord, he told all his fellow demons to slaughter all the cows, and brahmanas because fire sacrifices would then be stopped. There would be no ghee produced from cows' milk and there would be no brahmanas to conduct the sacrifices.
Hiranayakasipu also had all the trees uprooted because the saints mainly subsist on flowers and fruits. He then went to perform austerities on the Mandaracala mountain. He was then blessed by Brahma with the boon of near immortality.
