Our latest Bestimix is from a bonafide bass music legend, Bristol's one & only Al Tourettes. Al's roots rest in bass-heavy techno layered with funk; the kind of crazed, psychedelic, booty-shaking gospel as laid down by Parliament in the ‘70s, the kind that inspired his forefathers, be they Drexciya or Autechre. Al represents the next logical distillation of these principles, running his own brand of funk parallel with the contemporary bass music landscape after the dubstep explosion, but never quite fitting into it. His early releases on Appleblim's Apple Pips broke the mould & he continues to do so today, across his razor-sharp live sets as much as his recorded material. As you'd expect, his Bestimix is a corker! Comprising two new Tourettes tracks alongside pulse-quickening, body-pummeling techno & dubbed out house from the likes of Christian Vogel, Marcel Dettmann & Pole. Turn up loud & let the music do the talking...
