Chart positions

This upload was 8th in the #nu jazz chart, 31st in the #lounge chart, 36th in the #downtempo chart and 56th in the #jazz chart.

The first jazz album I bought was Miles Davis's Sketches of Spain; longform jazz was how I began. As the world opened up and more of everything became available to me, my attention span shortened a bit and my attraction to a good hook came to dominate my music tastes. But the capacity to enjoy longform music, whether it was jazz or ambient such as Brian Eno creates, never disappeared.

And certainly, as we head toward the longest night of the year, a session of longform jazz seems entirely appropriate.

So, of course, there's Miles from Sketches of Spain, along with selections from Keith Jarrett, Joe Henderson, James Carter, Joshua Redman, Joe Pass and Bill Evans, plus a few names that may be less familiar to you but are equally well worth knowing.

Props are due to my friend ThirdPower1 for his recent jazz session, http://www.mixcloud.com/thirdpower1/jazz-piano-unforgettable/ which provided the incentive for me to finally tackle one myself.

Well, well, WELL...Fly, Fly, FLY!!! Umm, umm, UMM!!! I just received notification that you had uploaded this latest creation, that I had been hearing so much about. I have just began listening, so I can NOT speak for the entire mix just yet, but if the rest of it is ANYTHING like this opening track...all I can say is good golly Miss Molly. If by chance anyone else reads this comment, before having the pleasure of listening to this mix, let me just warn you...THIS IS THE CRONIC. Our girl went back, deep within that MmeFLY soul, and she has blessed us once again with a GEM. This is NOT to be missed, I tell you...not to be WHAT???...MISSED!
