This week at Awakening Senior Leader Travis Grimes spoke to us on the keys to prayer from Peter’s declaration of who Jesus is in Matthew 12:13-20. In order to understand these keys it is important to understand first and foremost that no one has your voice, it’s unique to God and has impact. Often we want to see prayer as a time to come in with our list of needs, but it is important to understand prayer is a call of love to come and fellowship with God.
The first key to prayer is knowing who God is. As Peter declared who Jesus is, it is important to first understand who God is. In Jesus’ demonstration of how to pray, he begins by stating, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” In this, we see God modeled as relational as a father and also as understanding God’s greatness and vastness. Isaiah 40:12 is just one demonstration of the vastness of God- able to measure all the waters in his palm, weighing the mountains on a balance. If we could fully wrap our heads around who God is,
