Iain Mann (aka MannMadeMusic) embodies the term ‘Fresh’, when used in the phrase ‘Fresh New Talent’. He’s only been producing a few months, and he hasn’t been DJing much longer. Don’t tune out now though listeners. Iain really knows what he’s doing. Years of hanging out at reputable nightspots in and around North East England have led to Mann acquiring a finely honed musical palette. He likes his music to be soulful, deep, sometimes dark, but always slow. Slow enough to frighten away the mainstream MOS types, and soulful enough to scare off those who claim to be into ‘Soulful House’.
The mix he’s done for us reflects where he’s at musically to a tee. An amazing collection of re-edits du jour; his selections chug along and really warm the proverbial cockles. Tracks come from edit-luminary ‘No Requests’, along with the likes of Super Disco Edits and Slum Village.
The qualities a little rough, but if anything, it adds to the overall mood – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
