Hallo! hvordan har du det? Liker du techno?
Check us out, talking Norwegian and that. There is a reason of course, as this week we welcome Whiteshade. They’re from Norway.
Whiteshade are Alexander Skancke & Joachim Holm from Trondheim, Norway. The lads play out on a regular basis in and around Norway, have had their records and remixes released on CityWestRecords and Deep Area Records and their tracks supported by some bloke called Hawtin.
Oh, and they’re only 17 and 19 years old...
They claim to be influenced by everything from Rock, Jazz, Blues, The Prodigy and Norway’s electronic behemoth – Røyksopp. You can hear subtle hints of these influences in their productions – “Junk in The Trunk” harks of smiling faces in dark smokey rooms somewhere on the westcoast, while “Got To Go” is a rolling, percussion-led affair with a bassline that’d knock a wall down.
Things are looking up for our Norwegian friends...
