This week’s mix is brought to you by David Kenney; founder of Audio Parallax, Architect, Graphic Designer, compulsive liar, hopeless drunk and sometime laptop DJ.
David, known to some as ‘camp-spiv’, started out his musical journey listening to copies of Jean Michelle Jarre cassettes on his brother’s old walkman, and listening to his dad’s Jive bunny compilations from the back seat of their old Ford Orion. Becoming hooked on happy hardcore in his early teens, David got his first set of belt-drives at 13 and began buying 12’s from the likes of Tidy Trax and Tripoli Tracks. He probably didn’t want us to mention any of that...
David’s perspective of ANA’s mix is very different from the Harry Klein resident’s, starting off with some of ANA’s more peak-time cuts and drifting off in to the dubbier, deeper stuff later in the mix. He recorded the mix using Ableton, a laptop, two midi mixers and an iPod (don’t ask).
Stick it in your walkman and press play. You might be surprised.
