“DJ/producer Philippe Quenum is a long-time player with a resume that could kill a rainforest!”
So reads Quenum’s biog. Not very politically correct in this day and age, but with a resume like Philippe’s’, you can probably get away with wiping out a few minor species..
He founded Access 58 in London with Paulo Nascimento, Cadenza with Luciano and Num records in Geneva. Together with Luciano he composed the first release on Cadenza, “Orange Mistake” - one of the most successful techno tracks of the last ten years. In all, Quenum has released over 60 records, on Contexterrior, Cadenza, Orac, Soma, Trapez, Alphahouse and Toys for Boys. His tracks appear on close to 20 compilations on labels such as Fabric, NovaMute and Cocoon.
His mix for Audio Parallax is typical of what you’d expect from him – deep, dark, tribal-tinged house and techno from some of the scene’s most cutting edge and well respected producers, blended together with aplomb and an assured style.
