For the third episode of The Audio Parallax podcast we are very proud to present Ramon Tapia.
Ramon Tapia aka El Carlitto, is the son of a Chilean musician who had to flee his home country after standing up to the oppressive regime, meeting a Dutch woman brave enough to fall in love. That does indeed read like the back of some odd B-movie on VHS, but coupled with a musical heritage of Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson and Dutch Gabba – it paints a pretty colourful picture of our man Ramon.
The mix itself is a seamless blend of tribal/tech, with plenty of his own productions dotted throughout (well you would, wouldn’t you?), as well as killers from the likes of Nic Fanciulli, Harry Axt & DJ Madskillz.
Ramon’s own mission statement, in his own words is “to make people move by taking them on a trip in my musical head without even going into my head”. We’ve no idea what that’s supposed to mean, but we do like the
