Speaker: John SelbakSummary: Last week, we examined the view that states that we can know God’s “perfect will” for each decision we face in our life by paying attention to inward impressions or promptings, along with interpreting signs and circumstances around us. John took the position that, while this view is very popular among many Christian authors and speakers, it is actually not taught anywhere in scripture. This week, we continue to look at how we can discern God’s will for individual decisions in our lives. If we don’t rely on the popular view of inward impressions and outward circumstances, how do we use God’s moral will to guide us regarding specific decisions? Does God still speak to us about individual decisions? Can He still provide specific direction? What is the role of the Holy Spirit in leading us, and how should we seek guidance now that the Holy Spirit lives in us?
