Jesus is grounded, grounded enough to stand with his Father in the face of every test, even in the face of Jerusalem. And so to Jerusalem he will go. And he will not be deterred, not by the devil, not by Peter, not by overwhelming sorrow. In Jerusalem Jesus will die. And in the wilderness already, his resolve is unwavering, unwavering in the face of every test that would turn him from the Father and the Father’s way.
