Professor Billy Hix is the Associate Professor of Education at Motlow State Community College and a Teacher Liaison for the Space Foundation. Billy frequently visits local schools to perform outreach and to encourage STEM education in general, with a focus on science and astronomy, and to assist teachers to engage their students in science. Yes, the man gets around! Billy has a passion for education and astronomy, and is an absolute pleasure to listen to as he shares his knowledge about the universe through the numerous talks and star parties he coordinates every year for the Space Foundation.
Space Foundation Teacher Liaisons are a select group of educators who share a passion for space and were selected for the program for their integration of space themes into the classroom. This will be a wonderful discussion, and one to encourage backyard stargazers to get involved in STEM programs and astronomy outreach.
