Lake Mead recently recorded its lowest level ever since being filled about 80 years ago. It supplies Arizona and other states with Colorado River water. A briefing was recently held on Colorado River water shortages. Thomas Buschatzke, director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources, will tell us more about possible Colorado River water shortages. and Tempe Town Lake is back in action after being closed for a couple of months as a new steel and concrete dam was installed to replace a rubber one. Craig Caggiano, the town lake manager, and Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell, will talk about the dam replacement and the state of the lake now that it’s been refilled. and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been held in civil contempt of court, and a federal judge is expected to decide whether he should face criminal charges. Former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Paul Charlton, a managing partner at Steptoe and Johnson, will talk about what happens at the hearing.
