Memories and lessons travelling with Bhagawan to Hadshi

Memories and lessons travelling with Bhagawan to Hadshi

Leafing through the pages of my personal diary, I found many little anecdotes and incidents during Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Divine visit to Hadshi in October 2009. These episodes were sweet back then. But today, apart from being sweet they are also profound and insightful. That is the magic of seeing things in retrospect.

"A bird in hand is worth two in the bush", "Man is not an individual being but a social being", "Faith is easy to profess, hard to practice", "Pleasing God is always better than pleasing the world."
These and many more beautiful insights through 8-9 episodes at Hadshi!

This was a talk delivered in the Satsangh Hall at Prasanthi NIlayam on 6th April, 2017.

Sai Ram Arvind, Thank you for your kind reply. I felt, living through those moments with you listening to you, that Swami was teaching a different lesson when He looked at you after which you declined food. I think it was nothing to do with food or your hunger at all. It was to do with obedience to His Will and His actions. You had spurned the food He had offered you earlier at the hostel, at the airport etc. You were also in a protocolled environment where you were not supposed to eat. It occurred to share these thoughyts. What do you think?

Loving regards

Looking in retrospect with lots of affection to me, you have given me a halo. :)
What you say makes sense. These are thoughts that arise in me now. But my response to your question was the thought in me at that point in time.

Another enjoyable and highly informative speech. Thanks much, Arvind. When Swami looked at you as food was offered to you while you were starving and you declined it, what exactly did you understand Swami telling you with His eyes? Your action obviously pleased Him because after you declined the food, He smiled and blessed you!

Sai Ram!

Now that you ask, I felt that I should not do anything unless Swami tells me to - however tempting it is. :)
I was very hungry and I hoped that if I refused, Swami would Himself tell me to eat... :)

That however, did not happen...
