This week’s show features NEW poetry and a musical playlist from the amazing Jocelyn Kapumealani Ng. Jocelyn is a queer multidisciplinary artist, educator, and community organizer of mixed Kanaka Maoli descent who was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu. She is a spoken word poet and two-time international slam champion, a theatre performer and producer, a facepaint / special effects make-up artist, and a community organizer and outreach coordinator for Pacific Tongues, a nonprofit organization that cultivates an active artistic Oceanic community of writers, spoken word performers, leaders, educators, and students of all ages.
On this episode of "It's Lit," Jocelyn reads two new poems: "Affirmation" and "In Reflection / Love Notes" (featuring Lyz Soto). This episode also features a whole lotta 90s hip hop and RnB realness. Enjoy!
