A little bit house, a little bit hip-hop with a dash of acid, a low-slung mix from 2004. Originally recorded on a lazy Sunday whilst living on Thorn Street in Crawshawbooth. This half-hour mix was a little experiment with a slower tempo than usual.

Shortly after moving to Leeds later in the year I submitted this mix for a DJ competition running at a bar in the city centre (the name eludes me!) The guy behind the counter at Traxx Records was on the judging panel and gave me the heads-up on it, so I rushed back to the flat, knocked up a sleeve (also used as the icon for this mix) and went straight back round. I managed to scrape through the first round playing underground house amongst a dozen "funky" house, trance and "electro" house DJs, but played a pretty bad set in the next round and came about eighth place if memory serves me correctly. Not a good night!
