... and talking of the first tentative attempts to get back the "David Hamilton" audience they'd lost, that's John Sachs voicing the comedy trailer. Good grief, Cosmotheka! I think my mum recorded the Gilbert O'Sullivan song at the time, when she used to make tapes of the Christmas songs Radio 2 played. You don't have any recordings of Kennedy or Kelner early shows from 1993-5, do you? (My particular holy grail is a Paul Coia late show - when the Radio 2 Arts Programme used to take Bank Holiday weekends off, a practice which ceased the following year - from Sunday 29th August 1993, so I can hear *exactly* what I had the piss taken out of me for listening to ...)
Kelner sadly not, I wish I had. I do have some Sarah Kennedy recordings but they'll be from the 2000s more than likely. As for Paul Coia, not sure? [I think the nearest I could offer is some Debbie Greenwood! ]
KB's last week in this slot, the second of two he occupied during his brief exile from mid-mornings, and Jameson's last week on breakfast as well. And it was already the case in 1992 that they started playing the Big Band et al a good deal less on daytime ...
