Playing tracks by
Led Zeppelin and Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie.
Just for YOU here's another in my adhoc series of massive extensions of classic tracks. Elongations to test your endurance and revolt the purists. "Sacrilege!" I hear them scream... then I grin.
The drum track on the Led Zeppelin version of 'When the Levee Breaks' is possibly the most memorable and iconic ever created in the history of music... EVER. I could listen to it on loop for 47 years. Everyone has sampled it from Aphex Twin, Cocteau Twins, Björk, Beyoncé, through to Mike Oldfield. Countless artists have stolen, adapted and perverted the timeless beats of the immortal Bonzo.
Here's 47 minutes of 'When the Levee Breaks' to irritate, infuriate, contemplate and fascinate.
Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good.
