Kassiel is a project born from the collaboration of two artists with different backgrounds; Federico Bisozzi, Rome based composer/sound designer who has contributed to the Italian most famous web series “The Pills” plus being a regular collaborator for Wired and the main Italian televisions channels Rai and Mediaset, and Andrea Normanno (a.k.a. 1984) drummer, dj and producer with more than 15 years in the game.
They sounds like Toro Y Moi and Shigeto being punched in the face by Amon Tobin. Melancholic and evocative atmospheres that go straight to the listener’s heart and blend perfectly with the raw and organic sound of Normanno’s percussions section. The hypnotic and warm loop of “Fluttering” alternated with the retro 80s chill wave sound and the post disco incursions of “West Hills” out on January 2017 for Slowmotion, give to this first work a well defined identity which is at the same time hard to put into the genre box.
