As scientific knowledge and technology has grown, food processing has become more and more sophisticated.  Food elements are stripped to their smallest basic levels, and then fed to us packaged with labels like "pure" and "refined."  But nature never meant for us to consume food in isolated packages.  Our bodies need whole foods that preserve a natural balance of minerals.  In this podcast, Val and Jeff discuss how marketing and science have convinced us and our health care providers that individual elements are good or bad, when in reality, what our bodies crave is a healthy balance.
