This week from the Test Kitchen, we discover the world of the Haenyeos. For hundreds of years, the sea women of Jeju Island have braved the dangerous waters of the Korea Strait, even during the freezing winters. Using only flippers and goggles—with no breathing equipment — they search the sea bottom for abalone, conch and octopus to sell. We sent Jason Strothers to South Korea to speak to the Haenyeo and learn about their traditions. We’ll also discuss wine with expert Stephen Meuse and we'll speak with food writer Adam Gopnik. Then we’ll head into the Test Kitchen to learn how to make the best Beef Stir Fry. And of course, we’ll be taking your calls to answer all of your cooking questions.
