This upload was 31st in the #vinyl chart.
This is the first in what I intend to be a regular series of (mostly) French, all vinyl mixes.
Aside from Christine Pilzer’s 'Dracula' I’ve intentionally shied away from some of the more obvious Ye-Ye numbers and instead included a Spanish single by Jeanette and an almost post Ye-Ye Léonie; the Jean-Claude Vannier produced ‘En Alabama’.
There's also a few covers in the mix, firstly a seagull backed rendition of The Shangri-Las ‘Walking In The Sand’, and the second David Alexandre Winters version of Archie Bell & the Drells ‘I Can't Stop Dancing’.
Thanks to the inimitable http://www.mixcloud.com/duncanrsharvey for the heads up on Sylvie Vartan’s super sultry version of Little Eva’s ‘He Is The Boy’. I have it on EP but I had overlooked it in favour of title track ‘Le Loco-Motion’. It always pays to check the flip side!
Finally we get to one of my all time favourites Tiny Yong’s ‘Le Sauvage’ (a cover of ‘He’s No Good’ by British girl group; The Baker Twins).
