RNI 220m MW =>> Under Tow by m/v Smitbank <<= Monday, 22nd November 1971 22.00-23.55 hrs.

In the morning of Monday, 22 November 1971 the m/v Mebo II's anchor chain broke in heavy seas and the ship drifted. RNI was off the air for much of the day, but resumed broadcasts by late afternoon while being towed back into position by the tug Smitbank.
This recording is Part 2 and includes the voices of Terry Davis, Paul May and Mike Ross.
Part 1 (from 19.50-21.58 hours) the same evening can be heard here:

i remember tihis event well and was listening. RNI was exciting and there was always in the news, good or bad and it added to the suspense and i always admired their determination right to the end in 1974.
