I haven't recorded a Deep Soul mix since 2006 (!) which I just recently uploaded to Mixcloud after it languished on my old blog site for the last (nearly) 8 years. This one is obviously long overdue. These tales of love, lust and loss, moving from 60s tear jearkers to sweeter sounds of the 70s, all pulled from the deepest depths of Georgia's famous red clay. Before I'm accused of cheating by using Rex Garvin's Cravens as the first track, it's on the Atlanta label Saber, and Mr. Garvin, a New York native, did relocate to Atlanta where he lived for many years before passing on late in 2013. If you dig this mix, please check out my "Don't Let It End" mix of Georgia Deep Soul, also here on my Mixcloud page. Enjoy!
