Each one of these volumes is a coagulation of guitar solos by Frank Zappa, all unreleased and surgically extracted from soundboard recordings of concerts 1970-1988 and presented end-to-end rather like his official Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar, Guitar, and Transfusion albums. The track titles are anagrams of the songs that the solos were harvested from. See if you can figure out what they are. The year each solo was performed can be seen. If you can sit through a whole hour of these er... air sculptures... and remain fascinated and entertained, there's probably something wrong with you. But in a good way. A question to ask yourself: were all these guitar solos a kind of ironic parody ~ like a lot of the rest of his work ~ on some level? There are twelve volumes of these all in all and it is NOT a case of the barrel getting scraped more and more as the series progresses. This is just the first volume.
