The Israeli government is always trying to erase Palestinian identity/history in order to advance its own false historical narrative. The Zionist propaganda even claims that Palestinian did not exist and that they are ‘invented people’ as one US republican politician once put it.
Facing this constant attack on their identity, how Palestinians are documenting and archiving their history and their culture? Where do they store these documents? What happened to old documents and do they have access to them?
To help us answer these questions and understand the importance of documenting and archiving to Palestinians we did an interview with Andrea Miller-Nesbitt, a Montreal-based librarian, and Maggie Schreiner, an archivist from New York. Both were part of a group of international librarians and archivists who traveled recently to Palestine (Jun. 23d to Jul. 4th 2013): http://bit.ly/XhZs9Y
