DJ Risk started spinning trance and Hard house back in 2000 after getting into trance music and clubbing about a year earlier. In about 2001 his attention turned more to progressive house and trance after becoming a big fan of the Northern Exposure style championed by Sasha and John Digweed. His first residency came later that year at "Mix' bar on Krd and as part of the WSNC movement, many more gigs were to follow including playing in front of about 1000 people in the west end theatre at Godskitchen in 2002. He also became part of a new Radio station called "UP FM" that year starting a show called Risky Bizness, which of course still runs today. In 2003 he started "Smoked", which ran several gigs up to about 2005 and Cube and Blend including hosting internationals James Holden and Steve Gerrard.
