Broden details the current legal status, or lack of it, of Ireland's TRANS community. Broden outlines the role of TENI explaining why giving visibility to TRANS people is a key objective of the conference. Sean voices his concern at proposals for compulsory divorce, so soon after Ireland legalised it. Broden shows how TENI are actively engaging with the Government to successfully redress the Human Rights deficit of Ireland's TRANS community. Sean probably spoke for many listeners on hearing the proposals for "Gender Recognition" may involve a diagnosis of mental illness. Before inviting listeners to join the TRANS community at Dublin City University over the w/e of 7-9/Sept/2012, Broden reassures Sean these are just proposals and TENI has offered more humane alternatives to the Government.
