At less than 10 years old I was creating "longer versions" of my dad's Motown & Funk records, using record/pause on a tape recorder...
I was listening to the local club DJ's in the early 90's, trying to figure out what made them good, amazed by the technique shown on those Technics 1200 decks - started counting beats and tried to understand what they were doing - without ever touching a Vinyl DJ setup, Life started and dance music/DJ's faded away-until around 2007.
Picking up Mixmeister Fusion, and later Virtual DJ and a hardware controller, a retro "DJ" was born. I've been putting sets together now since 2007 - usually in front of "a live audience" - a group of friends listening in on shoutcast.
Although I love retro house, trance, lately I'm having loads of fun with Tech House.
