Good DJs break new ground, and the late GREG HOWLETT was one of Toronto's best. A native of small-town Dundas, Ontario, Howlett was a masterful mixer and disco champion who played in clubs both straight and gay, including Le Tube, Stages, Komrads, Chaps and many more.
This live set is 90 minutes of music recorded to cassette on Sunday September 16, 1984 when Howlett played at Toronto's infamous and influential Twilight Zone. This mix is more on the High NRG tip than the two other Howlett mixes featured here earlier, but also finds him delving into disco, new wave and more.
THANK YOU to music collector and blogger Omar Hashmoder (http://www.hashmoder.com/) for sharing this mix. A 13-year-old Hashmoder was brought to the Zone that September night by his older brother. He introduced Omar to Howlett who recorded onto the young music lover's blank cassette, digitized here for the first time.
