PIANO & A MICROPHONE TOUR: FOX THEATER , ATLANTA, 4:14:2016
This is such a heartwarming concert, with Prince bonding with his audience, and gently saying good-bye, but not forever, because forever is a mighty long time.
He shares intimate details of his life, his views of the world, and urges people to come together. In “Sometimes It Snows in April, (recorded on April 21, 1985) loss is experienced, with the resultant sadness, but also the hope of one day being reunited.
And then he leads you into the “Purple Rain,” where there is no pain or sadness, no suffering or strife, just perfect peace and contentment. “Purple Rain, Purple Rain, I only want to see you walking in the Purple Rain.”
In this set: How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore,” “Waiting in Vain” (Bob Marley & The Wailers Cover), “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” “Sometimes It Snows in April,” and “Purple Rain”/”The Beautiful Ones”/”Diamonds & Pearls,” and “Purple Rain" reprise.
