Beginning with today's episode of "Enjoy and Be Educated," we are pleased to premiere a new series titled, "Under The Influence". This series will showcase a certain artist/group and their influence on future artists/culture, regardless of genre. For our first entry into this series, we begin with the one and only Herbie Hancock. From his early days as a child prodigy on the piano to his illustrious 40+ years in the music industry, he has successfully transitioned from jazz to funk to the ability to marry 2 of the most influential genres of our time, jazz and hip-hop via his 1983 masterpiece, Future Shock. Please keep in mind this episode is only a microscopic look into his esteemed catalog, and be on the lookout for future episodes on him and this new series. As always with us here at The Diggers Union, enjoy and be educated.
**Note: The album artwork I described at the end of the show was for Herbie Hancock's 1975 album "Flood," not "Thrust." I apologize for the error. - Hevehitta
