This edition of the Juke Joint is the first part of our interview with homegrown Baton Rouge Bluesman Kenny Neal. Kenny was very generous and spent some good, quality time for an in-depth interview, and we appreciate it so much we're breaking it up into two parts, so you can hear the whole thing, in addition to a heaping helping of Kenny's music. Kenny talks about his childhood musical influences, the Blues legends that helped break him into the Chicago scene, and a lot more. We'll also hear from Kenny's father, the late Raful Neal, and another Baton Rouge Bluesman that's no stranger to the Juke Joint, Larry Garner. We'll listen to some Sonny Landreth, Johnny Taylor, Coco Montoya, Lou Ann Barton, and New Orleans' Peter Novelli. Pat Travers, Leslie West and Steve Hunter show off their Blues roots with selections from the Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute CD, "Hats Off To Stevie Ray." All that and lots more on this week's edition of the Juke Joint, brought to you exclusively by 96.9 WHYR FM.
