Pop & Wave 1st Wave special part 2

Pop & Wave 1st Wave special part 2

Playing tracks by

Tin Tin, Nik Kershaw, Scritti Politti, Inner Circle, UB40 and more.

Part 2 of the Pop & Wave 1st wave flashback special begins with my three favorite songs from the mid 80s --- 1983, 1984 and 1985. I can still listen to the original Kiss Me by Tin Tin everyday. Nik Kershaw's Dancing Girls was a piece of synth genius from an awesome album (Human Racing) from a guy who played guitar. The Word Girl by Scritti Politti from 1985 --- pure reggae/synth magic. In fact, it kicks off a bit of a reggae set featuring a few of the bands that crossed over. I also finish the tribute to 1983 with some masterpieces from OMD, Yazoo (a new remix), Thompson Twins, and a rarity from Barbie & The Kens. The latest from the Pet Shop Boys and Northern Kind round out the hour. For those of you who missed the first wave, you missed a lot --- this is a good sampler to take you back in time.
