This week's Gumbo YaYa, Music from New Orleans, features three songs by music pioneer Sweet Emma Barrett who was born 124 years ago. Another birth anniversary celebration (104 years) for Armand "Jump" Jackson who helped bring the backbeat into Chicago Blues. A set of blues songs round out Jackson's song and a few musicians from Lafayette area (Sweet Cecilia, Michael Doucet, Sean Ardoin and David Egan) season the show along with a short interview with Jeremy Kelley, saxophonist with Bon Bon Vivant regarding the opening of New Orleans music venues. Other surprises included, as usual, including Electric Arch, Helen Gillet and Kid Eggplant.
