Musicality of 90's hip hop(samples)

Playing tracks by

Brick, Jimmy mcgriff, Quincy Jones, Isaac Hayes, Tyrone Thomas & The Whole Darn Family and more.

I don't know if I'm getting too old or what, but I really don't enjoy hip hop anymore. Has it become too mainstream? Or just an old fart who thinks everything new sucks? I haven't decided. Probably all of the above. One thing I do know is that the beats and grooves are not the same these days. I know music evolves and probably should not stay the same, but damn, 90's hip hop had some musical soul. Here are some tunes that were sampled "back in the day".
1. Brick - Dazz (Ice Cube - No Vaseline)
2. Jimmy McGriff - The Bird ( Cypress Hill- Hole in the Head)
3. Quincy Jones - Summer in the City (Pharcyde - Passing Me By)
4. Hung Up on My Baby - Isaac Hayes(Geto Boys- Mind Playin' Tricks on Me)
5. Seven Minutes of Funk - Thomas & The Whole Darn Family ( Alkoholiks- Only When I'm Drunk)
6. Sylvia Striplin- You Can't Turn Me Away - (Junior MAFIA - Get Money)
7. Caesar Frazier - Funk It Up (Gang Starr- Ex Girl to Next Girl)
8. Dave Grusin - Either Way - B.I.G. - Everyday Struggle
