DapKings

Playing tracks by

Wanda Davis, The Droptones, Vicki Anderson, Barbara Acklin, Jeanne & The Darlings and more.

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings are back on the road after some time off so Sharon could kick Cancer's ass. That's good news for all of us! They just tore through Boston in what looked like a tornado of dance moves, with the Jerk and the Funky Chicken Twisting with the Mashed Potato.
We were lucky enough to have the Dap-Kings swing through Soulelujah after the show to keep the good vibes going late into the night. Conga man Fernando "Bugaloo" Velez handled most of the DJ work, but after a few drinks, the rest of the Dap-Kings just couldn't resist throwing a few 45's on the decks and by the end of the night it seemed as if the whole band had played a few records!
We are happy to present to you the entire three hour set here, straight off the decks. Unlike previous live recordings, the mic is not included in this mix. Claude Money handles the first 20 minutes before Fernando takes over.

Motor City Soul Club

Did the Daps cover these up? Or did you just not jot down the setlist? Some great stuff I haven't heard before in there.

Soulelujah

Nothing was covered up, I just don't have an accurate setlist. There are certainly some gems in there!
