Welcome to the first mix introducing the music that will provide your soundtrack to Shambala 2106.
It starts and ends in Africa- kicking off with the beautiful sounds of Blick Bassy, a Cameroonian musician whose unique blend of cello, guitar and trombone combine in delicate and heart-wrenchingly beautiful music, and finishing with the infectiously groovy funk of Pat Thomas & The Kwashibu Area Band hailing from Ghana.
On route, we touch down in Jamaica with the stunning and righteous dub of Jah 9; in France, with the reggae beats of L’Entourloop and the blues based infused hip hop of Scarecrow; in Japan, through the original beats of Anchorsong; the US, with the conscious sounds of Akua Naru; and, of course, the four corners of the UK are also represented! So, site back and enjoy the journey!
With many more confirmed acts still up our sleeves and bookings still being made, the sounds of this summer’s Shambala is set to be the best yet!
