It's a sad month for the reggae fraternity. On the 9th of october, we lost Lincoln 'Style' Scott, ace drummer and key member of the legendary 'Roots Radics' band and more recently, on the 19th of october, legendary singer/songwriter John Holt passed away in a London hospital.
Two artists who without a doubt left their marks on Jamaican music. They were significant of course for delivering an enormous amount of hit records but also, for creating major waves altering the direction of the music. 'Style Scott' and the Roots Radics band for shifting the riddims from the 'rootsy' to a more 'dancehall' style pattern and John Holt for delivering the sweetest love songs, making him one of the key players in creating the 'lover's rock' reggae genre.
Sincere condolences go out to family and friends of these great artists and a big salute to Style Scott and John Holt for blessings us with so many wonderful songs that touched our hearts and will forever stand the test of time.
