We’d like to say it’s back to normal on this week’s Off The Chart but if you’re a regular listener you’ll know nothing is ever normal around here. All we can say as that there’s a host of hits large and small from this day in 1981, three of the week’s new hit albums, a gander at the South African chart, a review of the day’s events and the top five singles in full. Oh, and the official announcement of our new website, which for various technical reasons was nowhere near complete by the time but we had to have something to go live with as we’d already recorded the show. Still, it all worked out in the end. Anyway… Whose first four top ten singles peaked at numbers 7, 8, 9 and 10 in that order? Which two songs both feature in two separate medleys at neighbouring chart positions? And whose debut album was banned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation for being “too political and vulgar”? Hit PLAY to find out!
