AWIL 294 - Shuva Das

Playing tracks by

Joji Hirota, Branford Marsalis Quartet, Marina Deligianni & Ιthikon Akmeotaton, Pulo NDJ, Las Hermanas Caronni and more.

Singer, songwriter, and rock guitarist Shuva Das is set to break the mould as a new talent in the world of music. Merging Indian classical & English vocals into her songs which are life-centred and spiritual, London-based Shuva has just released her debut album, ‘Out of the Shadows’, and is set to perform them at The Front Room in Croydon on April 27th!

Her musical heroes and gurus include her mother, Swapna Das as well as renowned pandits Rajan & Sajan Mishra, and Shuva has a number of degrees under her belt from Leicester University plus ACM in Guildford.

We can’t wait to hear what Shuva does next, and especially with that Stratocaster! Also on this AWIL, fresh global music from Chad and Cameroon by Pulo NDJ, Altin Gun of Turkey, Las Hermanas Caronni of Argentina, and thoughts for Orchestra Baobab’s Issa Cissokho, and The Beat’s Ranking Roger – RIP.
