Dhafer Youssef at AWIL!
His twenty-five year career through ethno jazz & Sufi sounds has taken him all over the globe with a range of collaborations that could make your eyes water. During his childhood years in Teboula by the sea, Dhafer assembled his own instruments and oud out of bits of boat wood and bicycle cables. Dhafer has worked with so many illustrious names but the best is yet to come when the results of his recent collaboration with Indian tabla guru Zakir Hussain and Turkish clarinet maestro Hüsnü Şenlendirici will be revealed. His new album is on its way too & set for release this September on Sony’s Okeh label. Make a note of the title now as it’s one that simply MUST be added to your record collection: ‘Diwan of Beauty and Odd’ www.dhaferyoussef.com
