Playing tracks by
FSOL and Amorphous Androgynous.
Back in 1994, there were a couple of interesting documentaries that graced our collective TV screens. One was called "Rave New World" (the subject of a Channel 4 Equinox episode), all about Rave music and its influence on culture (in particular drugs). There was an interesting segment in this episode that was completely cut and edited by the guys in FSOL. It featured interesting snippets from they're then forthcoming ISDN album, mixed with abstract images, treated film and 3D computer graphics (created by FSOL's visual collaborator Buggy G. Riphead) It was a fascinating and very surreal sequence.
The second program was a documentary about Urban Legends broadcast during a special "Weird night" on Channel 4 (I think) This program featured lots of mixed up cuts from FSOL's ISDN album, and perfectly complimented the visual descriptions of the various Urban Legends.
So, rather self indulgently, I put this mix together of tracks to capture the feel of those shows, and celebrate the FSOL.
