It’s the youngest and most unknown who seize opportunities that change the course of their careers. Just ask Tekkno producer Mike Nero, or Svenson of Airscape fame; 1997 was near the beginning of their production careers. However, worthy records came from the two producers that catapulted them into trance spotlight. At the same time, other DJs took this year to further their production envelope. Kai Tracid was enlightening the world, fusing progressive beats with complementary acid riffs. Christian Scharnweber, owner of the young yet already legendary EDM label, follows up the ’96 single “What Is Love” with an impactful trancer “Little Light.” Over on the harder side of things, Gary D. celebrates music culture with the ultimate anthem featuring remixes by the dons of hard trance – Springworld.
