Adam de Paor-Evans AKA Project Cee AKA RARE~GRILLS presents a two-and-a-half hour podcast of 29 significant hip hop records that impacted him and many others in the provinces of Devon and Cornwall. From when hip hop found him in the first days of January 1983 as a young 2Tone fan to the making of his crew's album in 1992, de Paor-Evans' selection reflects on records of other-worldliness, of socio-politics, of independent US rap, and the pioneering sounds of the UK. This podcast acts as a kind of preamble to The British Academy's forthcoming Why History? event with Farhana Haider on Britain's regional hip hop pioneers on Thursday 17th June (18:00-19:00) and further details are available here: https://www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/events/the-british-academy-summer-showcase/why-history-britains-regional-hip-hop-pioneers/

I just realised listening back in the car yesterday that I referred to Hijack's LP as the 'Hold No Hostage' album, which of course is incorrect. 'Hold No Hostage' was a 12" release, and the album was of course 'The Horns of Jericho'.
